Meet the doulas

Doula Deena

Hi I'm Deena, one of the founding mothers and faces behind Little Mountain Doulas.  As a mother of three, my journey into birth support began while preparing for my second child, after a less-than-satisfactory first experience. I felt called to learn everything I could about creating a more positive and empowering birth, that led me to choosing a home birth for my third.  I focused on empowering my mind, body, and spirit to embrace birth as a unique rite of passage — trusting both myself and my baby, and surrendering to the inevitable unknowns that come with every journey.

I completed my training through Doula Canada in 2021. As a Doula, my passion lies in empowering families with knowledge and confidence. I am dedicated to ensuring that you are fully informed and educated as you make decisions about your body, your birth, and your baby.  Whether you choose an unmedicated home birth or a planned cesarean, my mission is to help you make the choices that feel right for you and leave you feeling empowered, respected, and supported.

The day your baby journeys through that sacred portal into the world is one of the most profound and unforgettable moments of your life. Birth is not just about having a "happy, healthy baby" it’s equally about nurturing a "happy, healthy mother." One cannot truly exist without the other. I believe that birthing mothers should take charge of this sacred time, creating an environment of safety, comfort, and unwavering support.

Doula Erin

I've been fascinated with pregnancy and birth for as long as I can remember. In 2003 when I discovered that being a doula was a thing,  there was still no formal doula training available in BC. In 2005 I enrolled in one of the earliest DONA certification programs through Douglas College and started attending births!

Over the past two plus decades, I've had the privilege of supporting hundreds of families on the journey through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I've worked as a birth and post-partum doula, taught prenatal yoga, led newborn and postpartum classes and worked with couples as a coach. I spent ten amazing years at Westside Midwives in Vancouver as the Office Manager and Intake Coordinator which gave me invaluable experiences working closely with Midwives and other healthcare professionals supporting families. I've also given birth to my own two Children at home!

Birth is a powerful rite of passage—watching women discover their inner strength and witnessing how partners grow closer through the experience never ceases to inspire me.
